I feel exactly the same way.

Though I highly doubt an ecoboost will reach 800,000km like many I6's have done.
Plus there is the reduced towing.
And still the LPi would be cheaper to run and probably to service.

These points probably mean nothing to most new car buyers, but are SOME of the reasons why I'm not convinced on ecoboost.

Oh, and as mentioned, some will buy the 4 cylinder because it will give them that warm fuzzy feeling of driving a 4 cylinder.
