Default Kit Cars - Any Experiences?

OK so I am not talking about some floppy 80's fibre glass attempt but more the full kits from the likes of DRB etc.

Has anyone here tried building one themselves or known someone who has? How did they go and are they happy with the result.

I understand these can be a bit of "how long is a piece of string" but I wanted to hear if people then they are worth it?

Its a medium term plan of mine to have a track car of some type, I want to stay classic so I would be looking at something like a AC cobra, Daytona Coupe or maybe a GT40 but the throught of acquiring a transaxle is a bit scary.

Not saying this is going to happen or even start tomorrow, but I was curious about whether people thought the process was worth the potential pain? I think I like the idea of building it to my own spec in my own time.
