Default All-new Mazda3 leaked

Quote:
The all-new Mazda3 has apparently been leaked online.

Images originally posted on AutoTribute purportedly show the new-look small car, and the pictures have since surfaced on numerous websites around the world, with the pictures originally showing up in a Japanese magazine.

The images have not been confirmed to be official by Mazda, however they appear more convincing than previous apparent leaks.

The car features almost identical front-end styling to the larger Mazda6, and sports far more sleek body lines compared to the current car.

The all-new Mazda3 is expected to be unveiled in the coming months, and could be on sale here before the end of 2013.

Details are yet to be confirmed, but the new Mazda3 is likely to be offered with a range of the brand's "SkyActiv" engines as seen in other models such as the CX-5 SUV. They include a 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder for the majority of models, a 2.0-litre turbo diesel option, and possibly a 2.5-litre version for the sportier SP25 model.

Mazda Australia spokesman Steve Maciver told Drive: "We have not released any official images on Mazda3, or on any other future product for that matter".

The current-generation Mazda3 has been the highest-selling car in Australia over the past two years, but in 2013 it is under pressure from the Toyota Corolla which has seen a sales jump over the past few months.

a little early to pass judgement but so far a much more improved front than the smily faced current model.
