Default Urgent Help Needed! Au series 1 transmission/electronics??

Good evening all, have a huuge problem with our series 1 au fairlane auto straight six.. The speedo basically has no life in it and the transmission cannot change gears automatically.... drives alright if you select the 1,2,3 gears manually... rang many auto electrician places and everyone suggested that it would be the speedo transducer sensor.. replaced that for $60 - no change... we are on a pension and can't afford to throw money away... the next step we have is to get an electrician to hook it up to a computer to get fault codes or something but have been told that will set us back $160 plus parts and then more to fix...has anyone got any suggestions? can't find anything that is loose at all either inside the bonnet or behind the cluster as i pulled that out and checked.. please help if you have any suggestions! We are in melbourne.
