How to remove vin etching on glass?

I scored a rust free front pass door yesterday for the ZH (door is off an XC) and I've just noticed that it, and the rear pass door I got last week BOTH have vin etching on the glass. I do have other doors with glass in them without etching but it looks like a huge pain to change windows out. Is there any way to get rid of the etch from the glass?
