Question Au speedway car headaches!

Hey guys,
I'm wiring a mates speedway car at the moment and we seem to have hit a wall trying to get the car to start. It's turning over beautifully but has no spark and the injectors aren't firing. Obviously being a racecar we've left a few things off like dash, BEM, etc. And done a manual conversion. Because the motor is stock and I had a spare tiperformance chip laying around I used one of their basic manual tunes from their website and only disabled smartlock. Any ideas what i might have to do/fix to get things going?
For some reason there is also an extra wire coming out of the loom in the same place where, what I think is a knock sensor on the side of cylinder 3 or 4, comes out. Any ideas what this RED wire should be connected to? I'll learn how to post a picture in the next few days and put one up.

I'm heading back around to his place on Friday so any suggestions for me to try would be hugely appreciated. I think there will either be celebratory drinks or a bonfire and drowning of sorrows by the end of the weekend
