hiya guys new to the forum and first time using a forum so i hope im posting this correctly haha. anyway ive got a wf 1998 ford festiva and i was going to take it in for a wof (nz saftey check). so i was doing all the usually checks and deiced to degresse the engine bay as it had 2 small oil leaks. so the cars running. i degresse and hose the engine bay. i give it a few revs and all is running well. i leave it idle for a few minutes and then decide to close the bonnet/hood then suddenly the engine cuts out and it wouldn't start. so i use the compressor to blow out all the plus, the dizzy and trigger wheel as there was water in there and it still didint start so i waited a couple of hours till someone else got home to check if it had spark. so while checking it the spark plugs had no spark (****). then i dont know if this it the right way to check but a took the middle wire of the dizzy. the one going to the coil pack (i think thats what it is. its on the fire wall). and grounded it to the engine and still no spark. and even tried one of my regular spark plug wires on there and still no spark. also i got a test light (because i got no multimeter) and tried to see if there was power in the plug that was on the other side of the coil pack and there was nothing. so do you guys thinks its the coil pack or something else before the coil pack thats my problem. also are my checking methods. both the coil pack wire to ground and test light to plug a correct way to do it to give any results. sorry for the long post im just abit angry at myself haha.
