There are plenty of things that make you think twice about breaking the law in the US: armed police and hefty punishments are two that spring to mind.
"Now, however, law enforcement officers have a new deterrent at their disposal: this frightening Ford F-150. Customised with Ford’s ‘Special Service Vehicle Package’, buyers choose between a 4x4 or RWD drivetrain, with the option of either a monstrous 5.0-litre V8 or slightly less intimidating 3.5-litre EcoBoost engine under the bonnet. According to Ford, either engine will ensure that “there is never a lack of power”. We believe them. There are other additions as well. A high-output alternator ensures that the huge flashing lights won’t drain the battery in a hurry, and the easy-to-clean seats will certainly come in handy when arrests get, um, messy." http://www.topgear.com/car-news/modi...0-police-truck
