Default Bluetooth Music Streaming Issue

Just recently my Iphone 6 started to sound crappy through the bluetooth streaming. Sounds like a record player, crackly and ever so slightly jumpy. Very annoying for what is a excellent stereo.

Managed to find a software update for it today on forums (happy to link if anyones interested) which gave the car a bit better functionality, no need for ipod cord and aux cord in tandem now for example, and can use shuffle and repeat buttons with bluetooth, but the bluetooth audio quality is still the same.

Doesn't seem to have this issue with a Samsung S7. I suspect its not the car, anyone have any ideas? Iphone is a up to date as it will get.

Plug it in via the cord and the quality is perfect.
