Interesting development, 30% claimed economy increase, diesel-like compression, will run on petrol, and not use spark plugs.
Some time ago I read an article detailing how an engine would be best developed purely for ethanol, this comes close on the compression at least. Are we seeing a time where petrol and diesel engines will converge? http://www.motoring.com.au/mazda-pio...engine-105514/ http://www.autoblog.com/2017/01/16/m...nes-hcci-2018/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homoge...ssion_ignition http://thenewswheel.com/mazda-to-int...-tech-in-2018/ With their 6 speed auto, interiors and handling nous, should be quite a good car.
