Default Re: New Civic Type R - FWD Nurburgring lap record

I'm certain Honda know that the fastest way around the ring is with a RWD. Though judging by their F1 effort...?
But last time I looked (never) Honda doesn't make a RWD car. Going to the ring and putting down a competitive time is a marketing ploy to demonstrate how good their FWD car is. And this one is I the top 100 of manufacturer cars. Not bad given the sheer number of cars that have tried.
Its not as fast as plenty of cars, but for a consumer hatch I think Honda has demonstrated its competence. Add a few mods and it would scare plenty of much more expensive 'performance' cars. I've personally done a sub 8 minute lap in a modified Suzuki swift...gate to gantry!
