Drove from Syd back to Canberra. First set of lights the engine felt lumpy.
Stopped at 2 more sets and definitely something wrong. Got home, put car in Park, when I got out of the vehicle it was as if I could smell burning, the engine was seeming to misfire, the fan was running strongly. When I revved the engine it seemed to smooth out, but at low rev's it definitely seemed to be misfiring. The coolant temp was normal, smack bang in the middle of the range. Fuel economy seemed normal for the run, power didn't seem down- but then it sits on 2.2k rpm all the way along the Hume Fwy. Any guesses? I will have to locate a mechanic - don't want to go to Ford after the tranny disaster (it still whines accelerating or engine braking)- but hate going in blind. |
