Default Dodgy 4sp transmission, EB2

G'day all,

Got a problem with my EB2 (4.0 6 MPEFi Auto Sedan) in that downshifts have become very jerky. Particularly a downshift from 2 to 1 on just enough throttle to cause a downshift will cause it to spin the wheels. Taking away from the lights the revs will hit 3k unchecked and suddenly engage first, lighting up the rear tyres.

It's a bit of fun, but pretty dangerous - I forgot to tell a mate the other day when I lent her the car and she ended up spinning it :(

I read a bit about banding in the haynes book - is it likely this that needs adjusting, or is there probably something more sinister(costly) amiss?

Cheers,
Alex
