I was at that time of year when I was burnt out, needed a break from work and a house of 3 women. So I loaded up the Fist and went to Mount Kaputar for 5 days.
Surprise 1- the Fist can load a surprising amount of camping gear: Surprise 2- the Fist can load a surprising amount of wood Surprise 3- best way to see a sunset is from Mt Kaputar summit from a deckchair placed on top of summit ridge with a bottle of red- following shots of sunset [QUOTE][QUOTE] Surprise 4- that a walk to a Summit of an ancient crater- Mount Yulludunida- classified a "walk", had some rock climbing- here is a shot of the mountain top- you have to climb up the ridge to the right -before summiting the mountain I climbed up this chimney with 3 green grasses growing-actual rock climbing - on a walk- on the descent I discovered a cairn marked easier route up Another surprise- you get old very experienced bushwalkers who are bold- on top of the mountain you can make out 2 gnarly old guys who had summited Here looking down the rib on the climb up to summit- surprised to see grass trees up there on so exposed a rib Big surprise how amazing Mt Kapatur is- took covid for me to visit it. And the biggest surprise- between Muswellbrook and Narrabri the number of FG Falcons - it was without doubt the most popular large sedan in the country. Holden was mainly represented by Commodore Utes which outnumbered Falcon Utes. Be interested to have comments on what surprised you on a holiday....
