Nobody really minds paying a sensible sum but that amount is an absolute rip off.
What planet you on?.....I checked the CFMEU members rates, a bit different from my time in the AMWSU, but their rates to represent the workers is according to their pay rate, can't see a 1st year apprentice paying that, or a lowest level labourer?
But if I was earning a good rate, hourly rate, then even 4 grand may be feasible, depending on what the Union negotiations were, the current FIFO workers for instance on a 2 on 1 week off are getting paid to sit at home, that to me is disgraceful, but if that's what workers are now then so be it, should be laying flower petals when the Union organiser walks past, and bow down to him, not cry about fees
