Maybe a view from the other side, I have a mechanic up the road from my work who has filled the street with "his" cars. Obviously they are not all customers cars waiting servicing , probably part of a car yard somewhere nearby getting quick repairs to be flipped asap. His workshop wouldn't be more than 250sq mt and only has 2 parking spaces on site.
However one Sunday a neighbour and I counted 46 cars that were parked in the street on both sides over a distance of 200m while no staff were working in any of the neighbouring factories. I have to place witches hats on the kerb the night before to stop anything being parked there if I'm expecting a semi to deliver to me the next day. That's because workers from factories near the mechanic cannot park on the street and park 150m away in front of our factories. I've had cars parked outside my place for months on end and as long as the rego is paid it's legal..ask the mech to move it and they ignore you....it happened once too many times and I walked in one day and said my forklift has a capacity of 2.5 tonnes, how much does the Subaru parked 20cm over the edge of my driveway weigh? One bad egg ruins the whole dozen. |
