I've had the opportunity to look inside a few VEs over the past week, including a black SS. And by black, I mean black - black paint, black seats, black door trim, black dash, black carpets, black hoodlining, black freaking everything. It was like crawling into a wood-fired pizza oven after the fire had gone out.
One thing that struck me, particularly with the black SS, was how difficult it is going to be to keep the VE interior looking clean and new. The vinyl fabric they are using on the dashboard and on the upper door trim looks good, but the texture is a very small and sharp geometric pattern that seems designed specifically to trap dust - or anything else. It seems to me that the dash/door material is going to be pretty much impossible to keep clean, and will probably age very badly. |
