Just got a new 4.11 diff put in from Chris @ Bluepower. I am running it in, I have done 400km in it so far, I hope to do about the same K's today and another 150km tomorrow. I am unsure if I should race it on Sunday or not, I can't afford to replace it if it blows.
If you have installed a new diff in your car, how long have you waited until you raced it? oh.. if I don't answer straight away, it's because I am out driving.LOL

Don't worry the diff will be fine, the universal shafts would be your bigger worry but you don't have the power to really blow your drivetrain in a N/A car anyway so go for it.

The diff wont just blow up because it was not run in. It is best to put a few klms on them so that the gear set and all the bearings can settle in, so there is not issues with noises etc later on.

Also Doogstar it all depends how the diff was set-up, you can set them up to pretty much go staight out there and burn rubber or you make them nice and tight where there is a running in period.
Yes mate not a pretty sight, but it will be back bigger stronger than ever, the diff that is........ |

I had a great time at Heathcote last night and today, meeting up with lots of forum members, eating donuts and testing out the new diff.
I didn't set any new records or even beat my PB, but I had a blast. After a few adjustments the car was running real well, I ending up running consistant 14.8's. My best time for the weekend was 14.7703@95.74. I made it through to the third round of the DYO, which is good, I only just got beaten by the eventual winner. I don't think the track conditions were ideal today and no-one was running great times, so considering that it was probably 2 or 3 tenths off the times that the car is capable of, I am pretty happy. My thanks goes to Chris@Bluepower, for the loan of the MT's, your help and advice and putting up with my whining about the car.LOL Man, I am so tired though, I ending up doing over 1200km since Wednesday with the majority of those sitting under 80K's, but I guess in the end it was worth it. I think I need an early night tonight. Cheers, Doug

Change the oil in the Diff after 1000 klm's with some additive....
The 4.1’s have been in the Ute for 2 plus years now, fitted by Bill at Northern diffs.

Hey Mark, Thanks mate, yeah, I will be taking her back for an oil change, I bet there is a lot of metal filings in there after the weekend.
