I really regret selling my old XT Fairmont, everytime i see one i spew even more that i sold it.. :
I really miss the solid cammed 289 it had, man that engine revved like buggery, saw 7500 rpm regularly, and was hosing all the new clubbies and ss's at the time(early 90's)
Id love to get another one one day, they are hard to find these days..

There are two cars I wish I'd never sold, one was my very first car an XL 1963 170 Pursuit, damn that car did some work.
The second was an MG TD 1953 a real sports car only four cylinder but it kept a XK140 Jaguar behind it all the way from Sydney to Stanwell Tops, where the Jag finally overheated and had to stop.

Scared a lot of ppl on the way through the Royal National Park,me being sideways through every corner.

Damn they were good days...try and do that now and you'd have a dozen cop cars up your ****.

a car i didnt sell but got "hit" by a BIG mumma curb was my old 79 TE cortina ghia which i picked up for $950. It had power steering, air con that STILL worked, excellent 250 with xf head, 350 holley and electric dizzy. it had stuff all rust, went very well and was an awesome cruiser.

I really hate the fact that cortinas have shitty chassis and too much weight over the front, as they are a good lookin car and very light. i still look in the classified to see what comes up, i reckon ill get tempted and buy a manual as a hacker one day...

The car I miss the most was my old XC GXL Fairmont 4.9L. This thing was a low Km one owner in almost mint condition. Got cleaned up by a nuffy in a Hi-Ace van and written off.

There was also an XA GT Sedan that was stolen from me (nearly 20 years ago) that I miss also.

The only regret about any of the cars I sold or traded was the money I'd lost!! The only cars I miss are the ones taken from me by other circumstances.

Reminds me of an XC GXL 5.8 I had for a year. Was far from mint condition, but had the sunroof!

My Escort RS2000. I loved driving the car is was beautiful to drive. Only think I didn't like was the oil pressure gauge in the dash continually failing. I still wished I had it.

XP Ute - all the parts I needed to do it up came along very cheaply just after I sold it...

My Mrs regrets me selling my factory black RS2000.

My old white XC with the 302 and lsd. First v8 of my own money. Loved it.

Whilst it wasn't sold, my xb coupe with 429 was very very difficult to see go.

My red showcar quality painted xc 351 with electric front seats, lowered, tint, mags, exhaust, concealed wiring etc etc. Sold to fund my coupe then within weeks the new owner stripped stacks of stuff on it and it looked like shit. I shoulda put the 429 in it.

I miss the ED Fairmont too with all its luxo bits.

Mine was my Toyota Corona, 1974 model... her name was the puxmobile cos her number plate was PUX. I bought her as I'd never driven a manual and decided I wanted to, so she helped me learn (took 3 days of crunching and bunnyhopping lol).

I sold her when the double baby pram wouldn't fit in the boot and the backseat couldn't fit the baby capsule and car seat together without a fight (we had just bought an XD wagon, XF engine, LPG, to solve the problem).

The guy who bought the puxmobile loved her, and rang me a year down the track to tell me he'd taken her all over the country and she hadn't missed a beat. She needed some rust repairs and he asked me what colour she was (fireball red, I STILL know!) and told me how he was never going to sell her!

At least she went to a loving home :

I had a Yellow RS2000 Escort it was great. Wheel spins changing from 3 to 4. It had a worked 2L, Full 3 Inch exhaust, Quick Shift, Detroit locker and lots more. I sold it to buy my first V8 EB fairmont. But still miss the little 2L

AAAHHHH memories
The biggest regret was selling a 1978 TE Cortina Ghia I bought in 1985 in bright canary yellow it was a 4.1 4 speed manual , velour interior , 4 speaker AM/FM radio cassette power steer and air con the only thing I did to it was put a set of chrome 5 spoke dragways on it huge 14X7 shod with massive with 225 tyres for a bit more grip and it was one of the quickest cars back then for a stockie (I tell a lie I turned the air cleaner lid upside down which gave it about a 2cm gap between the lid and the body of the air cleaner assembly to suck more air in the dinosoar version of a cold air intake) , it would eat GTS's , V8 falcons , Valiants for brekkie and then still want lunch...

Tough call. Probably either the latter of my two P5 LTD's that had been fully restored or the ex works Rover SD1 that woke dead people thanks to the dual 3" exhaust!

Cheers

I miss my 1965 Wolseley 6/110 Mk2.She was immaculate.
She had a triple carb head from an Austin Healy fitted by a previous owner making for very rapid progress, but as I only ever managed 6 miles to the gallon on a good day,we had to part.Being unemployed at the time didn't help either.
Sold her to a couple who refitted her with a diesel......A sad sad day

Well, it wasn't actually mine but my parents, it was the car that got me hooked on Fords when I was about 7. A stock '79 XC Falcon 500 Sedan 4.1L with bench seat 3-spd uto (column) and not sure of the colours name but is was a reddy-rusty coulour. It was also a vinyl top version, but I still love the car. Kept track of it for a while but haven't traced it fo about 5 years. The guy that brought it ripped out the bench seats and cut huge holes in the parcel tray - utter sacrilege!!!! as that car was near mint except for an addded LPG tank in the boot when my old man sold it.

I shall have one someday... but for now I love my EA2 Fairmont.
