Having a quick look at Carpoint, you could get up to a AU2 Fairmont Ghia 6cyl with 10k, there are cars with only 80,000-90,000km's on them for this price.
10k buy's alot of AU these days!! Good luck with the car hunting. Norton |

Hi there, yer I think the bottom has falling out of the AU market. I wouldnt worry bout kms to much. Some cars have more wear with 100k kms than cars with 300k kms.
Depends on maintance etc. You may get a later model with more kms and be in better nick than a older car with less kms. |

Was a pretty unsuccessful day, looked at 3 cars.
A black AU fairmont Pro's: no dings, a few scratches and stone chips here and there. Con's: badly worn drivers seat belt, the trims had ash burns through out, pushy dealer A Burgandy Forte "classic" - Black interior, looks nice Pro's: really nice trims, lowest kms(of all 3). Cheaper than the black fairmont, The Mrs loves it. Cons: damaged bonnet and front bumber and rear boot spoiler. back lhs wheel arch scratched. The Galaxy Blue Fairmont Pro's: Nice inside, lowish kms, long rego, gear box felt the best of all of them. Cons: lots of nicks/scratches, ding in front bumper, crazed paint on rear bumper. I might just be better off getting my sisters AUII EGAS Forte. A least it doesnt have alot of problems, only the suspension is worn.

go the galaxy blue mont. then we can park next to each other at shows LOL
you'll find that most of the nicks/scratches will disappear with a good detail. the ones on mine did, and you know what condition my car is in... if you want Andrew, i can come sus out these cars with you. also, have you had a look at any AU's at Brad Garlicks? not sure what they'd have, but ya never know

My parents just bought a 99 AU Fairmont for $10K.
Bronze/Gold Colour, 141,000 kms, 1 dent on the whole body and drives absolutely magnificent. If you look hard enough, you may get one for $7-$8K easy. They bought the car from the same yard that i bought my EL fairmont from. |

No mods planned as yet, Will be getting a window tint ASAP tho.
Roof Racks are off and for sale btw, might eBay them An Intake and zorst will probly follow the tint and the Mrs really wants a 5 Speed. I also need to get my XC cleaned up before August, so thats a higher priority too. All in good time

Might drop around and have a look one day ... and see what spare I have to put on it
If you want 17's ... I got a shed full. :hihi: (literally ... wrong tyre size though). Now I gotta start looking for a Monty around ... seeing as the XC is quite easily spotted on the road ... a silver Fairmont will be more inconspicuous now.

Not to sure, make me an offer. There was a 3rd crossbar, it didnt come with it. The previous owner bought it as an extra for thier push bikes. So he retained it for later use.
