Default AU 2 utes, different to sedans?

This has probably been asked before and if it has I appologize.

I have an AU2 forte which came out with the orange side indicators. however my brother has a series 2 ute (built early 2002) which has clear indicators on it. why is this so?

the important thing is that the clear indicators are now on my car and his ute is stuck with my orange ones

My series II XLS ute had orange ones when i bought it ... I got the clear ones from Ford for bugger all.
I think the XRs had the clear ones though ... but not 100% sure.

Well me and blacker10 have both series ones, a Fairmont and a fairlane. Mine has clear (factory) and so does Blackers (I think). Just Ford being random like normal.

Ok, as far as I know.....

AU1 Forte Futura XR = Orange
AU1 Fairmont Fairlane = Clear with orange sleeve

AU11 Forte Futura XR = Orange
AU11 Fairmont Fairlane = Clear

AU111 Clear across the board

Feel free to correct me.

My AUII Fairlane had orange lenses. I did some research and found that, for Fairlanes at least, it was changed part way through the AUII run.

If its Ford being random - anyone have one of each? lol

I'm also curious - I see some AUs with the front indicator (in headlight) being orange in appearance? Most I see are just clear, but some are obviously orange - I seem to have fairmonts in mind?

Cheers Nic
