I want to do a few things to our AU and I would like some advice.
I do not want it to be a drag car or anything like that. I want something with abit of toe of the line, sick and tired of rice burners kicking me off the line. I am thinking about extractors, normal cat, 2 1/5 inch sports sys. or, Hi flow cat, 2 1/5 inch sports sys. Both seem to give the same power. Can someone give me some tips. I am also thinking about a stage 1 chip, is this a good thing to do. |

Welcome to the forums.
You should try posting in the AU Falcon section, you might get more help there. Anyway what model AU is it ? I6 or V8 ? Auto or Manual ? AU Falcon talk can be found here. http://fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=53 For more serious tech talk try these: If its a 6. http://fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=15 If its a V8. http://fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=9

Anyhow, unfortunatly for us all the AU (and all E Series too) suffer with a joke of a 1st gear in the auto. Best bet is a decent exhaust system with headers, 3.45 diff ratio (or 3.73 if you want more still) and a good CAI to sort the intake side out. That should see you pushing 0-100 in sub 7 seconds, usually more than enough to deal with annoying rice burners.

Thanks
It is a series 1 au forte 6 banger auto what is a cai I can only imagine it is the chip. I find that from 40 ks an hour onwards its great but off the line it sucks and a joke of a 1st gear would explain that, thanks. is there any other tweaks that might help. |
