hey fellas, i just put a bid on a shift kit for me auto, wonderin if any one has experience with em? do they actually work as im sick of me auto with dragging in changes.

Yes they work, but the shifts are very harsh.

yeah but the economy mode seems very sluggish as i know shes got the power but the gear box seems to slow er up.

I have one in my wifes car. It chirps second at 80km/h and its reasonably stock. Although the shift is very harsh. You will need to take into consideration your diff and uni's. I blew the diff in mine about 2 months after installing the shift kit. It cost nearly 1000 bucks for a brand new LSD but at the time the shift was cool you get sick of it after a while. But hey now the mrs drives it and i got my XR8 so i dont have to worry about it. Hahahaha

The J3 chip I got from chiptorque not only does all the ECU stuff but can change the shift points and shift pressures too. I got them to set it up when for normal driving its smooth as a cherry, on a whipped creamed, ice cube. But if you're up the rev range it snaps hard and fast, best of both worlds.

If you're going to get one, pay the little bit extra and get the fully adjustable one - that way you can liven it up or tone it down as you feel.

I drove a vr with one, really improved pace, and gave you a little kick in the back. An adjustable one is definately the way to go, turn it on or off whenever you want, and adjust to desired shift pressure.
If too harsh it will damage the driveline and unis, if just firm enough it will prolong the auto's life and keep it a little cooler. |

I've actually timed mine back to back running the shift kit on, and then running it turned off, and it only improved 0-400m time by 0.1 seconds - not really worth it when you consider the savage way the gears change. A fully adjustable one (I had the 2 stage one) would be better, as you could adjust it so that the shifts are just slightly firmer than standard.

Get the Exhaust .. Your not going to need the tint for atleast 3 more months until summers here so get the Exhaust and save for the tint

I must be doing something wrong with my Auto. Cause I put into D when I want to go forward and R when I want to go backwards. Is there some kind of fun that's in between? I just thought Neutral was.
