I like the Holden logo, but I must admit that it lacks originality.

The lion may be some symbol of power and majesty, but I wouldn't say that drivers represent anything majestic based on their behaviour.

Its a lion pushing a stone!!. It came from the legend of the wheel being invented after a man saw a lion roll a stone.

The ford logo is fine, its what it is, its the name of the company, and that of its founder.

Every bloody car manufacturer tries for a symbol, the Jag, the Flying Angel on RR's, the list is endless, meh.

A LOT of the Holden symbology was introduced way back when Egyptian stuff was all the vogue (King Tut's tomb and the like)
With the introduction of the 48-215 there are a few other Egyptian symbols as well. The Obelisk, centre of grille emblems.
The legend of the Egyptians inventing the Wheel after witnessing a Lion pushing a pebble is the reason - though I guarentee you that most Holden supporters would be totally oblivious to the true meaning of the Pussycat & the pebble - yet still call themselves "real fans".

most holden people don't like the symbol anyway, so they change it to the chevy one.

The Ford logo has been the same for a bloody long time. It's been refined slightly over the time, but the logo has remained the same.

It's also timeless.

No...Ford's logo is good. No bS.

I thought the Zot-Fot-Pik discovered the wheel.

Lightning hit a rock, grass attached caught fire. Round rock rolls down hill and runs over Zot. Fot and Pik decide that he has "gone to a better place".

The wheel, fire and religion all discovered at once.

I honestly cannot see the logo being changed again, seeing that the HSV logo has the Holden logo somewhat incorporated into it.

I love how General Motors Holden likes to connect itself to Holden Bros. Motor Body
Builders. As if the company somehow grew from the body building works.

It's like they are trying to put a little "Romance" into the story of GMH.

The cold reality is GM won the tender put forth by the Australian Gov to Design and
Manufacture a completely Australian built car. GMH was created by a politician's
signature on a piece of paper.

The only thing it shares with Holden Body works is the name and the fact that they
both build/built GM products.

In fact wasn't the 48/215 meant to be called a "Canberra"?
