Hi. I am having a bit of trouble removing the radio fro the car. At the moment i am using coat hangers and i am pushing them in about 2cm and they seem to lock. As soon as i pull on the hangers, they just unlock and the radio stays in place. Am i supposed to be pushing i further or am i supposed to be doing something else?
Any help would be appreciated. |

push them in angled towards the centre of the stereo ie
/ \ / \ Then straighten them out, will holding them in place pull the unit out. I did this by sticking my thumes in the tae deck and pulling it out from there, could be easier with help |

its a real pain!! I did exact same thing with the hangers! i couldnt get it. Went to stereo shop and they used drill bits and got it out. IMO coat hangers are useless!!

Try a pair of 1/8" or 3mm drill bits.

Thanks for the offer whoosha, thats really nice of you, but I finally managed to get it out last night/this morning (1:30). I had to use a drill bit, allen key, tamperproof key and a nail. MacGyver's got nothing on me :
The radio code seems pretty pointless if a thief needs to have the 'tool' just to get the thing out... Does anyone know if there is a surround available that can go around the single din head unit to cover the gap between it and the console? |

The eBay store only sells the pocket. I bought one yesterday from JB's and painted it black. What i need is a surround for the head unit itself as it is recessed from the console.
