its the range and the low prices that makes them so popular despite their poor business ethics.

Because most people are tight asssses, exactly how sydney speed/procomp survives, all passing trade/new customers because they are cheap, repeat customers would be under 10%.

The place is a "Hangout" workshop, I.E: Everytime I've driven past the place, the parking lot is full of BMW's/300c's/Commodores/H2's all on 20+ inch rims.
Dudes standing next to cars and talking .

They do sell some high quality brand rims, but I would never go to them.
Customer service is disgusting. Attitudes are appaling.

There are so many places in Sydney that are ten times better than Tempe.
Tempe has an image, that's it.
Hell, I'd go to Beaurepairs or Bob Jane's before I went to Tempe.

maccanats... thats the only word you have to hear... the live off it...
i got the offer of rims tyres and cut springs aswell...
the tyres they offer on their "deals" we dont even get in through work at all, thats how terrible they are...
a lot of thier work they do is either claims or returns/warranty work... theres not a lot of people who go back there because they want to...
your only asking for trouble selling cheap dribble like that, which is why we only sell decent stuff, but we dont sell much at all because of places like that...
some of the "work" they have done is unbelievable, like grinding away brake calipers so the rims wont rub...

Customer Service hahahahahahahahah, they didnt care that I was there.
Waited around, inspected the mags on display. Finally said after 15 minutes of waiting "I have money to spend, and I want a wheel and tyre package"
Eventually a thing slimed over and said "well whatdaya want then"
After I had to educate it on the stud pattern and offsets, he said "I dont know what we have" I said. "I know I have cash, and I want to spend it" Upon hearing this, another thing slimed over and tried to sell me 20" diamond stud bling blings. However, they would need spacers, wood spacers mind you I kid you not.

The final straw was when it stated nankangs where the best tyre around.
I just left it standing there and drove away.

Paul

Yeah but in this case all they had to do was sell you an original ford rim that someone else traded in! I'm actually surprised they didnt fu6k that up somehow.

3 years ago, or so, I was driving a TS Magna.
I had researched, and chosen, a make/model of mag that I was after and found Tempe to have the cheapest price.
I rang them the day I wanted to go buy the wheels. I was in the Blue Mountains, over an hour drive, away. I explained to them I wanted to get about $1000 on finance towards the wheels, cause I didn't have the full amount. I told him how much I was earning a week, and he said "no problem mate, we can get you finance, come on down".
So an hour and a half later I was at Tempe Tyres. I walked in, in all my glorious pasty british heritage whiteness, and was ignored for over 20 minutes.
A young asian gentleman driving a hotted up rice car came in while I was waiting, produced a wad of bills at the counter, and was instantly served.
Then a large middle-aged Greek man wearing more gold than Mr. T and driving a huge Mercedes came in, and was also served before me.

Finally I was 'served' after 20-30 minutes, and after a 15 minute wait, was knocked back for finance. I drove home magless, with a very nasty taste in my mouth.

HOOOORRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! :

It took 2 weeks & a 5hit load of phone calls but I finally got there, after about 3 dodgy replacements its finally sorted.

DAM that was hard work :togo:

I seriously urge everyone to shop else where for rims because chances are that 9 out of 10 times you will get nothing but huge problems out of Tempe.

I pretty much go to one tyre guy - Pat's tyres in Fyshwick; now part of the "Tyres and More" group. Great service, great price, great guys!
