I'd say its fake. Why would you convert back to normal lights.

Has it got XR6 interior, engine, badges, wheels?

Red Tickford head, they did come with those twin spoke style 5 spoke wheels - the Tickford wheels were optional I think. The door trim was red down the sides unless it was a red car, then it was black.

This site here has a decent list

If it is genuine, it would have been in a crash. What might have happened is someone's pranged it, saw how much an XR front costs (very expensive) so just got a standard one.

Don't know where you are located. I saw a clean looking white EF XR6 in Wangaratta last week with a sign that read $4000.

id say youd be able to run the VIN and it should give you the details of that VIN ie, model etc

Get the Sido- 6 digit number or the Vin of the car and then go to a Ford dealer. They should be able to punch in the number and then that'll say what model it is, what trans, colour, etc.

Check if theres a Tickford badge on the RED rocker cover. I probably wouldn't bother buying it if its missing the XR front.

When i bought my car ALOT of people were thinking it wasn't an XR. Had alot of little bits and pieces that everyone found weird, leather interior etc.

Took it into ford and they ran the VIN and gave me a whole bunch of details confirming it was an XR
