The front ends chunkiness and wheel arches remind me of the Interceptor concept.
Theres Falcon/Mondeo/Kuga/09 Fiesta in the bumper grille and foglight housings. The chunky/scalloped doors remind me of the Mondeo and 09 Fiesta. Headlights are very Hyundai Sonata (not a bad thing) Ford seem to be really big fans of the Focus ST/XR wheels, they're popping up on everything, are we seeing unparalleled unity in Fords global design? Has anyone else noticed the 'puffy cheek' styling trend most cars have nowadays? (area between the headlights and foglights) VE HSVs and FGs across the range are examples. Is it me or is there some sort of bulge on the bonnnet? |

It's hell of an improvement over the current Taurus, the styling has been watered down a fair bit from the Interceptor concept though.

I quite like it - has a very Mondeo feel (which begs the question why build the thing in the first place).

Youd think it would be cheaper/easier/quicker to put a US nose on the Mondeo and sell it in the US as a Taurus.
Or even push the Euro angle and sell it as Mondeo? What does the 500/Taurus have/do that the Mondeo can't? |

its a clay model, but it looks nice.
i see they are making another clay model in the background aswell. foru fomocoau wing mirrors and a very fg like bumper but knowing the americans it will have a v8 powerplant and live axle rear.

Falcon will never be produced here and exported. The $AUD becoming more expensive and our high production costs means we will never make them cheaper than the US.
For the Falcon to make it in a foreign country, it will be built overseas, with all development done here. Exactly what GM are going to do once they have finished tooling up their plants in the US for the VE. |
