Default T3 oil filters around $6 a pop

For those of you that use the Z89A filter you will know that the usual price is around the $18 mark these days and the cheapies are $10 to $14.
I have found where I can get through the importer and Australian distributor Omega brand from overseas that are fully compliant with standards according to the distributor and they have quoted me approx. $4.90 each plus postage I put $6 to allow for things but these should come in at $5 or under.
If anyone is interested maybe we can put names here and a bulk order be placed. I just got 4 for $20 and they look OK to me. These guys dont know they go on high performance falcons they think they only fit small european cars and some daihatsus and I'm not telling them any difference in case the price changes. What do you guys reckon.

Z9's are a quarter the price of Z89A's on any day of the week. believe me if a Z9 would fit I'd use it but with the block and lines for the external oil cooler the Z9 is too long and fouls on the rail.

I even looked into changing the setup to a 45 or 60 degree mount so it would take a Z9 but when it was costed I thought b@gger that I might as well just keep it the way it is.

Odd , I can fit a Z9 on mine with ease. I just choose to use the Z89A as it allows oil pressure to build up quicker at start up.

Ah well you see its not really so odd. The series 111 T-series presuming they are the same as the series 111 pursuit250 (just went out and had a double take) its not actually the rail it fouls on its some inflexible metal plumbing and a canister that mounts under the A/C and directly behind the filter. It is part of the A/C system. Either way I would say yours doesn't have this as when I looked if all this seemingly imovable C@*p wasn't there it would indeed fit but to move it would involve degassing , regassing and reworking lines etc.

A Z9 filter goes on very easily, with heaps of room.
I recently done a service to the sedan, and fitted a purolator (the blue ones)
they were $9 from super cheap when they have the 20% off sale.

Ive stocked up as the dont make the smaller one to suit the 220's and 250's.

Bloke they are all the same, from forte to T, just give that little metal canister a slight push and in it will go without any hassles and without any regassing and reworking of AC lines, lol.

After all it is a Ford, not some sissy car, you can bend stuff and it wont break!.

Well I'll give it a go its been a couple a years since i looked hard from underneath but I dummied up one from my old car and thought there was no way. looking from the top now its that packed out i cant see how but I'll take your word for it and borrow one from my son next week when I change the oil. If I fracture a line and stuff the A/C I'm divorced but that could be OK.

P.S. are you running the external oil cooler

In the ute no, as its a 200 engine, but the sedan is a 220, so it does have the oil cooler.
There is no difference with the motors externally, its just that oil cooler adapter that takes up the room.

When you get underneath you will see what i mean.
They are supposed to be better with the full oil filter anyways, and purolator dont make the mini one.

Mine was a 220 so it does have that cooler line and the canister. All you need to do is move it by about 2cm and you can get a Z9 in there, not that you'd really want to anyway. Mine rattled at start up with the Z9.
