Default Sunbeam Alpine + Windsor = Tiger?

Anyone got any ideas how many modifications were made to a Sunbeam Alpine to fit a 260CI Windor (and trans)? Did they perform major surgery on the suspension, rear-end, steering, etc ... or was it basically blot it in a let rip?

If you could chop the windscreen on them I think the Alpine (Tiger) body is pretty cool [ screen is a bit too tall from the factory ] .. and I think I look a bit like Maxwell Smart!

Probably the same amount of mods that TVR had to carry out when they stuffed a 289 windsor in their cars..

Apparently the then reigning 500cc cycle champion said he felt safer going flat out on his bike while running the Isle of Mann TT than he did while sitting in his TVR in the garage.

Yes .. dangerous even as a static display (comment about a Leyland Marina)

I still think they'd be pretty cool .. power-to-weight .. quivalent of an ice-cream container with a V8 attached (a.k.a fiberglass '32 roadster)

OzJavelin I'd have to check on the details but the V8 conversion has been done plenty of times.
