Default AU Auto Servicing Recommendations (Melbourne)

G'day all,
Tried a quick search for the above, but thought I'd try a new thread. Have had a response from GK, whose input is always appreciated (was my grammar correct there George?). But just wondering if others have high regards for certain auto servicing joints around the Northern suburbs of the worlds most liveable city...? :king:

Thanks for that.

Surely other AFF members aren't neglecting their servicing needs...

Your grammar was great! LOL!

The $150 service at Fluidrive Coburg BTW wasn't a full flush. It was you who asked me a while ago about that wasn't it?

Dino is a top bloke.

Cheers,

GK

Correct George. I ended up going (back) to Autotrac in Nth Essendon as I also developed a vacuum leak from the inlet manifold gasket. Thought I may as well get the auto serviced at the same time. I should have put your tutorial into practice regarding the T/B cleaning. They said mine was putred.
Keep up the good work,

Rob

I have had a couple of bad runs with those guys. I hope you did better than me, but boy they wanted to charge me $150 (non fitted) for a flashlube kit when I got one for $70 from Repco. Disgraceful. I rang back and told them so.

Also, they replaced the head on the wagon a few years back. Overcharged me $350 for the consumables. They then miscalculated the amount they owed me because they didn't account for the GST.

That's not all, but I doubt I'd ever use them again. Hope you were happy with them.

Cheers,

GK

Sorry to hear that George. Over the last 3 years have taken it there 3 times and really couldn't fault 'em. When we first got it there was a weep from the extension housing seal which I got them to fix with a service. Weep reappeared again about 30K later and when I questioned them about it they ended up rectifying it for free.

Can you elaborate on other problems with 'em? From other feedback I've found people are either really pleased or totally p*ssed off.

Well I finally got there, albeit 2 years later. Took my new acquisition down there last Tuesday for a cautionary service. Impressed with their service and most importantly the auto was all good. Will be returning soon for a cooler.

Thanks,
Rob

Thumbs up

Glad you're happy with the service etc. In our world of potential automotive rip-off merchants or sub-standard operators, that is a good thing.

Cheers,

GK
