If you were on the run from the police, why would you hide at home? Of course the police are going to go there looking for you...

I don't know if it is just me, but this guy sounds like you stereotypical low IQ repeat offender with no grasp of the consequences he will soon face.

Did he really think that he could commit offenses, escape custody and then have the police simply give up looking for him?

It sounds like something that would only happen in Grand Theft Auto or Hollywood...
It makes me so angry that someone has no respect for anyone else, the law or common decency. :(
