Default CD Stacker

Hi, I'm new to your forum. I do find these are worthwhile ways of finding information and aquiring parts. My Cougar a 99 model came without the optional CD Stacker and I would like to get hold of one. If anyone has removed there genuine unit and wants to sell it please let me know.
Thanks
Scout

G'day scout,

Best bet is to check ebay and also the cougar forums at www.newcougar.org. I believe it's just a standard ford 6 stacker (same model was in the EL and possibly AU falcons too. (correction?)

Where are u from also? Good to see another Cougar owner!

Hi I have checked a CD stacker out of an EL Falcon it had a seperate Radio Cassette and Cd unit with the stacker in the boot. It was a genuine Ford unit but the plug had 16 pins and the Radio Cassette in my Cougar has only 12 it therefore will not fit. Is it possible that a later model around 99 may have the correct 12 pin male plug??? Or is there an adaptor to conect?

Possibly, the stacker itself looks to me like a normal Ford stacker (compared to the number of Fords we've had) Try an AU stacker, as i remember dad's AUII Sportsman had the same stacker.

Oh where have I been!?

I have the original Cougar stacker sitting under my bed... It's the same one that was used in the Ford Explorer's as well (at least by appearance).

I can take a look if you want? I'm not using it lol

That's right! The Exploders had the same ones! I thought i'd seen it somewhere before. Dad had an Exploder a few years back.

Default CD info

Hi, Dan I would appreciate the part numbers of the CD stacker. I have not checked the one used in the Exploder is there a particular model? If you want to part with yours give me a price.
Thanks Scout

Hey Scout...

the numbers visible on the stacker are:

FM1773ZE149081 (etched into the back of the casing.)
P/N F8CF-18C830-BB (sticker on the back).

Manufactured 06 MAY 2002

Not much else to help out. I think it might be different to the Explorer changer because I remember my Dad's one having a fold up flap to access the cartridge whereas mine has a sliding door - but dayem this thing has some weight to it!

scout, if you're still interested let me know. I just wanted to make sure it was the right item you were after first.
