Yeah mate, i am now. Focus has gone off what most would call a bodybuilder style routine and is more around power strength training. I toyed with the idea of weight lifting but decided that after years of crazy- heavy lifts in the past 5-6 years, my knees and back would not be able to take it. Doesn't help being 6'2" tall either. At the moment am around the 106KG mark. With new method have improved in strength greatly over past couple of months. Using more deadlifts, squats and power cleans, heavy bench etc..Used to go to Tivoli in Brissy to watch IFBB shows but not in a while now. Still know a lot of guys who compete in bodybuilding, who have rooms full of trophies etc..Are you thinking of training for and entering a strongman comp?

I love the strongman competitions having come from a bodybuilding background

Having said that a lot (if not all) of the guys are "assisted"

Mariusz Pudzianowski - awesome - gear or no gear he is truly amazing

I know, he is an awesome Strongman! But i think he is nearing the end of his career. I reckon Kevin Nee is the next big thing!! (once he sorts out his passing out problem lol!!)

Yeah Kevin Nee is very impressive - but the passing put is a massive issue

I was really impressed with Jesse Marunde until he died.....RIP

The body can only deal with so much gear at a time - and these guys are stacking it like no tomorrow

And nowadays also playing around with diuretics & other stuff....

Nice, good work.

I used to work with a Welder years who competed several years in the UK one before he moved over here.

He was a power house, I swear he had no neck. He asked me to get a argon bottle, i went looking for a trolley, in the meantime he went and picked one up and threw it over his shoulder and brought one there. Im a big bloke with a bit of grunt, but i never felt so weak working alongside him.
