Default Annoying Towbar!

Hi guys, just a quick one..ive just taken the towbar off of my AU XR6 and i am now left with a big hole which looks like a rusted square exhaust..Just wondering how people have covered this up..either constructing a cap or buying one..any information is greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

Funny, you've done the opposite to me. I had the bumper bar with the cover (no tow bar), and fitted a tow bar. I don't think AU1s had a cover though, so you may have to make a small plastic or metal cap for it and just use a couple of black self tappers or similar.

sounds like you have the heavy duty jobbie and have just taken the big tongue piece out or whatever you call it.

to get rid of the big rusted spare square exhasut, you'll have to take off the rear bumper then undo all the bolts holding that part to the body. then it wont be there, and if your bumper needs a cap to fill the towbar gap, find one from an auto wrecker.

I got one from Ford a couple of years ago - $15, then it cost me $20 for a spray can of matching paint.

What you have is the Hayman Reece 2300kg tow hitch if all you did was pull the hitch out of the sleeve it sits in. If that's the case you can buy a chrome blanking plate that will slide back into the sleeve and fix into place with the retaining pin you would have removed to get the hitch out.
