I found hardly any difference between the different companies, it all depends on where you live. If you want to have cheap insurance you'll have to move to Queensland.

yup modifications, age of driver, area of residence, area of garage or carport, stats on previous payouts on that particular model and more, all figure into the final price you get quoted. Sadly it will be different for everyone, you can only compare prices for yourself between different companies "apples and apples" so to speak. Try Just Car insurance, they are a subsiary of AAMI who will carry a bit more risk for younger drivers with mods if you're still having trouble finding a mob it insure you. I'm with AAMI cause I'm a little older, have mods, and their premuims for me are cheaper than Just Car, but like I said, apples to apples.

BA XT all mods listed, 20 years old, $1200 per year with SGIC thats at market value as well...... Got quoted over the phone from Just cars, they said they could insure me for $1150 per year for agreed value of 12.5k including all mods. I would have gone with them but they dont offer a pay by the month option untill you have been with them for more than 1 year.... Seems a bit silly to me as i would have gone with them if they did!

Hi mate, I have the family VY Commonwhore wagon insured with RACV and it is about $750 per year, I just bought a BA XL E gas ute, RACV quoted me $900, I nearly fell off my chair, my old Pursuit with heaps of modifications only cost me $1400 with Vigil, so I shopped around and ended up getting it insured with GIO for $550.....but I have house and contents insurance with them, but even so it was only $605, about $300 cheaper than RACV.

I am rating 1 for life, both cars are parked in a carport at night.

I'm insured with RACV; BAII XT with the 3V V8, all mods listed on the contract (full exhaust, lowered, LPG) and I just payed this years premium - $670. Thats rating 1 and agreed value which is now down to about $17500 as they adjust it each year, 30 year old driver.

Car parked in driveway, no carport or garage (although I do actually have a garage). Where you live makes a big difference.

thanks for all the input guys. i think that my cost aint to bad now looking at some of these posts although im 22 and the insurance dosent cover any modifications. i think ill do a bit more searching around, if i actually ring the company's and speak to some one rather than doing online qoutes i might find some thing.

You guys are all lucky I can't seem to get Insurance at all, I admit this is my first night of trying and just doing online quotes only company that would give me a online quote was SGIO and they quoted me 3g's a year. Just cars, AAMI, RAC all of them I'd have to call wouldn't do it online. I am trying to get Full Comp on a BA XR8 Ute with lowered, rims, extractors/exhaust tint, hard top, tune, cold air induction so forth so forth and I'm 20 thats porb the big issue but I'll call round on Monday see what i can find haha fun for me
