Hey guys,
I'm the Vice President of the Skylines Australia NSW Club. We organise a few events and I'm curious to see if you guys would like to join us at WSID in late october or early november. We have a good relationship with WSID after a couple of successful events and are looking to run another. I reckon a few skyline owners would be keen to race some turbo falcons but of course I'm not trying to exclude the V8s. It just seems that normally the Fords and Holdens just hang out with each other and the Japanese cars hang out together. Why is it so? Doesn't have to be. We are all pretty much the same bunch of aussies. We have cars from 14 seconds down to low tens (maybe some 9's soon I hope) and are all in it for the fun. More RWD than AWD which might surprise you guys. Do you guys have an event coming up? Are you interested? Can anyone point me in the direction of the club execs? Am I in the right forum? Cheers. |

I think most the guys are scared of damaging there car or imbarrased how they'd go...But realy its up to the way you drive that depends!! To be quite honest with todays later model cars you can be quite fast without abusing your car...Have a go, its a big adrenalin rush and its amasing how fast you can go when you consentrate on good changes etc, on a manual esp..If your car is auto there's hardly any abuse you can do if you let auto do its work...

Very interested! We have quiet a few members that would be interested in this event.. I am sure that there are quiete a few Turbo drivers and some V8's that wouldn't mind a legal challenge against a Skyline.... I am quite surprised you have more RWD than AWD, but should make for some great fun!!! Do you have any dates, details etc etc? Oh, Yes you hit the right spot. All committee members read this forum. Cheers Ben Treasurer.

Email sent Mr Monkey.
Any more interest around here? It's on saturday november 5. Limited numbers so you get heaps of track time. 30-40 runs if you're keen. As for breaking cars. If your car is stock you wont break anything, if it's not stock then isn't this the kind of thing you are modifying it for? I'm not personally right into drag racing but it is fun to do at least once or twice. It's good to know exactly what your car can do. |

This is an awesome suggestion. I reckon the idea of getting different clubs together for drag days or events in general is sweet especially as it seems it's difficult to do this solely (from what I've seen) within the club.
These sort of days make me want to join up with a club. I think I'll be having another look at my decision to join.

Yeah it's a bit hard for one club to do it. It's possible but more work.
We have done one with the rotary guys (RENEW) which was good but we are keen to get out amongst some other vehicles. The HSV guys seem to be all in the 12's which is a bit boring. We have such a range that it makes it fun when you line up with someone in a similar bracket. The Honda guys might be keen but I'm a bit worried that they wont be competetive. Basically keen to get out with some turbo falcons but like to have the v8s there for reference. |

So are we going to make this a club event or is anyone going to attend this event from the club as the other drag day is on when a club show & shine event is on. I know that the club chirstmas party is on the next day but this mite be a only chance that we get at this type of anevent for this year.

Bugger!
We cannot change the date for the motorshow. Which means we are double booked for the 15th September. As most members will want to go to the motorshow, it looks like we will have two events on this day, and two drag days this year :!!! So i reckon this event with the skyline club is official!!!!! So AUIII XR8 MAN, start training, few months time, we will be racing (pushing) our cars with the skyline club watching!!! :monkes: Cheers
