mitchey,
4cyl = no torque if it does it's hopeless, no power unless it has forced induction, hopeless up hills unless foot was put down miles before the hill and all round are just generally sh!tty! sorry mate but thats the truth, don't get me wrong there perfect for holding up traffic and taking years to get to the speed limit and they waste no fuel. pro's and con's with everything, but regarding performance, 4cyl got no pro's to em.

You're also missing the point that even your 2.2 litre TX5 has more torque down lower than a Honda VTEC engine.
Wouldn't quite go that far, Heeno... |

2000 Type R Integra. 0-60mph in 6.2secs 1/4mile 14.7secs. All out of a VTEC 1.8l (108hp/lt). Jeez if im correct that would beat any stock falcon or commodore up to XR6T. I dunno correct me if im wrong as im not too sure on stock times for commodores or falcons. |

Friend took me for a burn in last year's Integra type r. Quite nice, not terribly comfortable but you dont really expect it to be. Performance wasnt breath taking in a straight line (it gives the impression of speed by revving to 9000rpm) but stuck to the corners well. Very very nice piece of machninery but I certainly wouldnt call it a race prepped production car. Lol, love the poem at the start of the thread.

Commodore's? Plenty of pre VY-VZ's will beat it... VXII SS, VXII HSV-Anything, VX SS, VX HSV-Anything, VTII SS, VTII HSV-Anything except XU6, VT HSV-Anything, VS HSV-Anything, VR HSV GTS, VP HSV GTS, VN SS Group A, VK SS Group A HDT.... Oh, and the 2000 ITR's had 105hp/litre, not 108. 141kW = 189hp. 189/1.8 = 105. The later ones were 147kW (197hp), but they were 2.0litres, so that's 98.5hp/litre. Oh, and on the road, in the real world, in-gear, overtaking etc etc... your Integ will get raped by an EF GLi and VS Executive... Enjoy! :thebirds:

C'mon guys he is entitled to his point of view. He's copped enough flogging.
Although it does seem a little silly to get onto a FORD forum and start waving the VTEC flag. Surely there are other more suitable forums to frequent for that sort of discussion? I will say though that the TX5's crash into trees very very well. Forgiven me yet pop?

I took the joke too seriously which i thought was funny but just pointed out something about the VTEC. Now there is no need to drag this thread on anymore about it. And as for lancers? Well a mirage has more chance of winning and i still kick their ****. Or was that 2 mirages? |

And the Integra Type R, one of Hondas sportiest models, should bloody well beat a taxi down the strip. Awesome poem, but just needs the fly-by part. |
