Default New Commodore

Seems like a lot of Holden VE Commodore owners are a bit worried about resale value with the "New fuel efficent dunnydores " coming out..........

I bet it will still break down as much as the original VE. They get good fuel economy when they are parked up on the side of a road waiting for a tow. Couldn't sell mine fast enough.

Besides the 3.0L, they're really not that fuel efficient.
The 3.6L is doing 10.1 with a 6 speed....our 4L will do that with a 6-speed in the comparable models.

Wow, this thing is putting out 290nm? Thats ludicrous.

So the top spec model is 210kw and 350nm and returns 10.3L/100km
What does the FG do? 200(?), 405nm and 9.9, lol.

290nm? Come on, they're having a laugh. My N/A FG is pumping out 420nm and 205kw on 98 octane - and I get 10-10.3L/100km with the ZF, and I don't drive like a pansy either.

My XR6 Turbo ute is currently sitting at 10.2l/100. Not bad for 270kw ay?

My XR6 ute will do 8's on the highwya, but mix it up a bit and its soon in the 10's..

VE's look so cheap now.. Specially Omega and Berlina, but then again the cars 3 years old this month, time for some new wheels!

16,000km on the clock, serviced and thats all. Fuel usage comes down to how you drive it. I drive in manual most of the time and rarely get a chance to really boot it

Well that's surprised me! Even with sensible driving, I'm impressed.

it looks like the 3.0 l model will have to be caned to make any performance, and comparing my old au is still looking pretty good in the torque department 374Nm compared to both holden models, but with 6 speeds they should taxi along ok though, however it does look like both Commodore motors will be working harder to make similar performance to the under stressed FG Falcon in line 6, it will be interesting to see if they put any thing other than 6 speed auto/manuals in them , i think with out them they will be absolute slugs....time will tell.
