The Dodge Dart was the one that used the same body as our Valiants wasn't it, looking at it, it looks almost identical to my mate's 68 VF Hardtop.

Yes a bit, but our Valiants didn't get the optional 426 Hemi with twin 780cfm Holleys, A833 four speed and aluminium panels that made them do 10.8 second quarter miles everything stock apart from slicks. On the standard cross plys they ran low 12s. They even had a few more leaf springs on one side than the other to help with the torque twist through the body. Basically an off the showroom floor stock standard, street legal but not all that street driveable, drag car.

Thanks for the technical info Trev. One small nit-pick though, they weren't street legal, in fact there was a notice pasted on the inside of the glovebox lid stating "not for street use"... check out Noddy's link, post #2. |

I was pretty sure they were legal but just that the sticker was a warning that they were not recommended for street use in stop start traffic etc. Thus what I was getting at with the not practical angle. You can guarantee that plenty of them ended up getting registered.
I just love the fact that they came on skinny rubber with four wheel drum brakes, roflmao. The car epitomises the muscle car era to an extent that no other manufacturer got no close with. The car is an enigma if you will, and just so excessive you have got to love it.
