Lucky for me the I couldn't hear the song as the sound is not working when I watch youtube for some unknown reason.
Did anyone notice that the dancing resembled our very own V8 XXXX Angels. :

Wow that really was bad! Dance act was half assed - and what is a dance act supposed to represent in the launch of a environmentally friendly car?

Chevy volt and me
The future should be a big adventure
Instead our world is under pressure
Everyone’s talking ‘bout making a change
To cost of fuel and mileage range
Together we face this new frontier
With mysteries to solve, oh dear
What will get us out of first gear?
A better ev
Not that’s a big idea(r)
E for electricit, v for chevy volt and me
Electric car with a battery in charge
E for electricity, v for chevy volt you see
It’s as simple like a dimple, plug it in and see
From the folks at chevrolet
Chevy volt is on its way
It can make a cleaner world
A greener car that powers itself
You get up to 40 miles emission-free clean energy
After that bio fuel or gas will power your journey

Actually this could be rather clever marketing, whether intentional or not.

Think about it, a launch so bad it gets a lot of people talking about it (as we are) people posting it on Facebook (as has been done) and there is even a ring tone of it. A marketing campaign that has gone viral without Chevrolet having to be seen as desperate.

I turned it off after about 30 seconds. The stupid song, and dancing routine was enough for me.

I hate marketing. but I get that this will appeal to your average person simply because its catchy and lame. Its probably genius from a marketing point of view.

And thats why I hate marketing, it reflects the mainstream lame. Like that new moon movie that was popular so I will make a pact never to see it, ever.

I guess that happens when you have about three fiddy to spend on marketing because the company is so broke.

Stand up comedian Bill Hicks (RIP) was my first thought.

"Does anywhere here work in marketing, if you do, please kill yourself now. Oh, you think there's a punchline, well no, just kill yourself. Now."

OK, an update... the marketing manager who thought up this monstrosity has been "re-assigned" to the truck division. I can only imagine this kind of idiotic idea will go down a treat with the kinds of blokes who buy Chevy trucks! Bahaha!
