Default Need a mk2 escort altenator

My Scorts altenator has crapped itself, and I'm after a new one. Even if it's not one of another escort, any one that would fit i'd be happy with. Anyone know what model cars would have an altenator that would be suitable either?

if you are giving it a hard time make sure you rubber mount the alternator, fabricate a new bracket for top that mounts so it comes off the block & not the water pump.

If you are running at swan hill ask Bob with the Blue buggy to point out what I mean, he has run Escorts for years........

Brad
in your giday post you said you lived around Swan Hill & you were doing Auto X with the car, I put 2 & 2 together as Swan hill has its own track & assumed you were competeing there....
((Bob Thomas competes up there with his blue buggy, he is a wealth on knowledge on Escorts))
or where are you competing? or are you just planning to compete?

I can take some happy shots to show you what i mean
cheers

You do realise it's actually very easy to repair an alternator....

Most likely the carbon brushes have worn out, possibly one of the diodes have failed... anyway an easy repair - and much cheaper than buying another alternator!
