I was mid negotiations with a lady and her manual FG XR6 ute, listed at $26,000 but she doesn't seem interested in a trade for my WS Fez and some cash her way. Damn, I'll ask at work on Monday how much they'll give me on a trade in for my Fez, I can't really be bothered trying to sell it privately, but I've got a feeling I'm going to get dicked on trade for sure, it wont hurt in asking though.

Not to mention the Hilux has no keyless entry or central locking.. Drove one of those too before I ordered the Ranger. Kev

well i have an 02 extra cab hilux with a tub and a canopy, and on gas, it is a great car, it is the 2.7lt.
my biggest issue with is that it isnt that great to be in for hours at a time traveling, has nothing on a falcon ute for comfort, im with kev a ranger or bt50 is a great piece of gear, also if towing the falc with a 2300kg towing cap is the way to go,

Don't know which Hilux are you talking about. Mine 07 SR D4D tray has got power windows, remote central locking ,variable speed wipers etc. It is a fairly basic package but they are workhorse after all. It is a proper commercial ladder chassis ute vs a car modified to look like a ute. I have driven a BA Falcon tray (coloumn shift) at work fair bit and (it might be that that one was thrashed) and was not very impressed with it. Toyota sells more Hiluxes than Ford sells Falcons (and that is sedans, wagons and utes included) . So they can't be that bad. |

In April 2010 they were 3419 Hiluxes sold and 3557 Falcons (794 utes).
So i was wrong... What i should of said was Hilux sells more than 4 times more than Falcon utes so it can't be that bad. I guess the difference is if you want a car that doubles as a ute get a Falcon and if you want a ute get a Hilux or if you like a diesel ute get a Hilux, or if you like a V8 ute get a Falcon .. so many options and it all depends on ones needs and wants. the only reason toyota sells so many hilux's is because all the mines around aus use the hilux. cheap and nasty and only last 24 months then new lease vehicle.
would be a more interesting fact is how many provate sales went to falcon. i would prefer my private ba mk2 anyday over my hilux single cab SR. has a nasty hobby horse effect with any weight in the back even toolboxes. so my vote goes to falcon hands down. |

Well I just purchased a brand new twin cab turbo diesel Colorado for $35990 and then I got $500 factory cash back. Be nice if you could get another 10 grand and go new.

I just spent $3000 on tools today, so I'm relying on the sale of my Fiesta to bring my bank balance up to something respectable haha. I've driven a V6 Rodeo through work and I like how it rides, it just bounces over everything, its quite comfortable.

Gotta be manual, also.
I can't drive 8s, P plates. I'd <3 an XR8/6T but unfortunately, my workshop manager won't write me an exemption letter haha. |

I wouldnt look at Hilux, Rodeo, others etc. Do not compare to the driveability of a Falcon one-tonner. |

If u arnt after performance and want a comfortable work ute,try the fg egas xls 1 tonner ute they are great, very reliable and only costs u 30-35$ to fill her up.......the only downside is the power 156kw.....but they have more tourqe than the petrol model in the lower rev range, wich is great for carrying heavy loads.
