Which long weekend is this?
I want a long weekend. Are you after sight-seeing things to do or something else (ie: Theme parks, etc.)

Have a look at Natural Bridge, if you haven't already, being near the border and everything
Apart from that, the Glasshouse Mountains are also excellent!

Springbrook Mountain (G/Coast hinterland) is great for walks, not to mention awesome lookouts & views. Also an incredible 25 km "rally drive" up from Mudgeeraba

How about this grab a quick bite at the moball caffe (the one with all the cow stuff) take the mountain drive from murwillumbah through to currumbin valley and head out to the rock pools. there are two spots. the first has the cafe nearby which is good for an ice cream after a swim, or follow the road till the very end and you have a bush walk up to an old timber mill, and also you have the better rock pools and rock slides. (water is pretty cold up there though)

Somerset Dam is excellent, then go via Maleny and around those areas. Sensational!

Are you refering to a 'Brisbanites' version of QLD, as in The Great Southeast (damn everything north of Nambour), or QLD including the rest of it (the good bits)? :

I tell you what, i know its probably to far to go but you gotta get up to the great barrier reef off Mackay/Townsville or Cairns and either go snorkling or scuba diving. I live right on the reef and its awsome. This is the best time of year to go aswell, not to hot, not to cold. Its worth the holiday.

Why not try Nimbin, great place to relax and take in the scenery........and meet a few of the locals, then you could take a very interesting bushwalk somewhere around there.
