hello,
new to the world of forums, but been lurking on this site for a while. i recently bought a Xr6 vct ST. i know that there are other topics that answer a lot of questions about the ST but theres a few more that id like to ask. i know that there was 125 of them released, does anyone know how many autos/manuels? does anyone know if they were "numbered" a la the t series or even the cobra (1978)? i'm thinking they wernt, but if they were, how would i find out? With the ST, and having the leather seats, momo gear knob/steering wheel, t series 18's ect, would / should the car have a tickford plate (the one on the right hand inner guard)? i know that there is a lot of "urban myths" about the ST, my came in blueprint, single Cd audio, momo steering wheel gear knob with standard brakes and xr suspension. thanks in advance |

In short they were a run out model to clear some parts, but as you already know they are a well appointed car and a great drive.
AFAIK they were not numbered, only T series cars got that. Like you say they got leather, bodykit, Azzuros and thats about it. They were basically the XR6 version of the XR8 Rebel. Got some pics?

ST got leather, momo bits, azzuro's and the 'ford racing' (rebel) kit. No build plate. No premium sound even though some people will try to tell you otherwise.
They were available in Venom (red), Silhouette (black), Blueprint and Liquid Silver. In my opinion the best looking AU Xr's by a country mile.

been off work on hollidays and have spent a bit of time on the Xr. i have done the following, -
I tinted the windows, threw on a pair of "Ba" front skuff plates, put some "led" globes in the dash (white ones. not entirely the effect that i wanted. was really wanting a blue "ba-bf" look but came out looking good), added a Xr6t intake snorkel with a ss induction air scoop and put some 322mm front rotors and calipers on the front. REAL happy with them. Wasnt entirely sure if they were a true straight bolt on thing or not. they were a straight bolt on and drive. not only do they look AMAZING under the auzzruo rims, they work so much better. |
