maybe re-aarange the order of the pics, so the main pic is a rear 3/4 view or something... a pic that is still generic xr?

Just thought I would do a quick check of your car against what else is available in SA and your car didn't even come up when I searched for an XR6.
Don't know why, but reckon you need to revise your listing as it's probably missing prospective buyers. Your listing does come up if you just search for Falcon, just not when you specify an XR. Price is right, k's travelled is OK, appearance is good, reckon I could sell it up here (Gold Coast) in a few days, must just be a slow market in SA? Also, have you tried Gumtree? Starting to take off up here, free to list as well. Cheers, |

It's listed as xr6 Vct. That might be why. Should I list it as just as an XR6?
Will try Gumtree. Thanks again |

IMO price is really low for a manual XR6, should be around 8? But like has been said its probably the T series front thats putting people off.

yea i find the price low, if convert $6500 to nz it $8700 and the only manual xr6 on trademe is nowhere near as tidy for NZ$10000.
I payed 5k for my au 1 xr6 tidy company car 210,xxx km with good service history. which is AU$3700 does that sound about right?? as for the bumper, im 17 and if i was buying my an xr6 i wouldnt buy that because of the bumper like everyone has said, every gives me **** about it with round headlights but hey its my favourite AU bumper and i prefer over non-xr BA so im happy with it. Best AU front bumper IMO is XR50

i made a bit of a mistake when i bought my new car, browsing the net at cars being bored and came across a nice clean au3 xr8 ute, said to the mrs look at this, she said buy it so i did, expecting to sell my au3 XR6 manual ute right away as it looked so good and always had ppl commenting on it, turned out i had 2 xr's for 4 months, they looked awesome in my driveway but i ended up selling the XR6 4 months later for 11,500, refused to drop below 10g. i decided to just wait and it payed off, literally. eventually someone will come buy and snap it up

I think nearly everything I wanted to say has been covered here already. Damien, you already know what I said to you about the car before.
State ONLY the positive aspects about the car, let those who want to know more ask the right questions if/when they choose to take a look at it. This experience you are going through now is exactly the reason why I wont bother selling my AU. They are just not worth selling if you have poured money into it unless you are just accepting the financial loss. Its just the nature of the system. I know I would get at the very best 8k for my car as is, and it would only be an enthusiast that would consider looking at it. Even then, I would only sell it WITHOUT the s/c on it, and return the motor back to stock. Back on topic though, choosing your words wisely with your ad, select attractive photos, and have plenty of patience.

i hate to be negative ,but if you have a look at pickles auction's ...
its not looking good . a mate went to trade his ba futura, burgandy 110k immaculate not a mark on it 16inch alloys .was offerd $3000 for a tade in. what a joke i reckon... car dealers are like real estate agents ......... the only real thing from stopping honest blokes selling decent cars is "you can't offer a special finance deal"blah blah blah. sorry if i'm a bit off topic.

If its any consolation, a local car yard has one for sale that has done 150000km and they want $13000 for it!
Then theres the local Holden dealer that wants $22000 for a VZ SS, $19000 for a VX2 SS and currently $13000 for a VX Calais. |

I wish I could get $13k for mine. Would stop me having to take it apart.

I say keep the xr, and make it into a hills machine. Bigger sways, Better shocks, and even consider some strut braces etc. Put the cash towards making it the best handling XR around. Also look a better brake package with braided lines, Dot 5 fluid and some DBA 4000 series rotors.

i still wanna sell it. but i mite change the price to around 8 k. if i start buying stuff.
my old WRX was amazing. XR is like a boat compared to it. but i need to play on a car. i have "modbugitis" already running Dot 5 tho. sway bars on the cards. i'll get a 27mm non adjustable front and a 3 way adjustable on the rear 27mm. should make a decent difference. really does need tuning tho |

A wrx is a pretty special car when it comes to hills runs. I can see why you would rather that. Having less weight, awd and boost is by far the major reason I would choose one too. Still I like a challenge as well. But each to their own.
