beauty is in the eye of the beerholder and i cant drink that much beer, ugly, loved the EL, love the XR8 el, but that is ugly as sin, me personally, car is really only worth the sum of its parts, those 2 letters sure seem to cost alot "GT" and on a four door sedan????? would love a nice XA, XB, XC coupe and could probably have a couple for that money.

Love the EL GT but no way in hell I'd pay $105k for it.
Even if it was $20k the missus would say no cause it's nearly 15 years old.

I don't understand why people judge the price of this car when there were people paying 7x that for a P3 GTHO they were not a overly significant car might have been the fastest 4 door and won bathurst. From memory the RT Charger with the slant 6 ran the same 1/4 mile time as the P3. Have you seen what the VN SS Group A are fetching at the moment i'v seen 1 with 10,000kms and they wanted $110,000 for it.
would you guys buy this a fairly normal GT in black with gold Stripes. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=5021181&YearFromShort=1651&__Qpb=tr ue&Cr=16&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSor t_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String |0&SearchAction=N&YearToShort=1681&__N=1247%201282 %201252%201246%204294965879%201216%201651%201681&s ilo=1011&seot=1&__Nne=20&trecs=100&__sid=12F6F98EC C3E |

To someone who collects GT's that's actually pretty reasonable, and in 100% original condition too. Nice car, but I'm not into collecting things.

Dreaming, Besides ED XR8 Sprint is WAY more desirable IMHO. Faster without the gay looks.

each to there own i guess I love them just as much as the day they were first released. I still look twice whenever i see one or even when i see a EB GT or sprint as you just don't see these cars on the rd anymore. These are the cars that don't get replicated like the old GT's do so when you see one you know its a genuine GT and you don't second guess yourself like you do when you see a old one. I also wasn't the worst looking Aussie car released i think the VL Walkinshaw wins that one hands down

Actually i remember when the seller was originally asking 115,000 dollars for this particular GT when i came across it on carsales.com though my first impression was that individuals who own desireable or collectable ''musclecars'' like this will have a significant price tag to go with it lol!
Despite the politics that surrounds the EL GT this would have to be one of the more finer examples and personally, ive always been very fond of the EL GT and hopefully in the near future i would like to be the proud owner of one too!

But you could get a BF Cobra for that price and have a few dollars change? Surely the BF Cobra is the more collectible?
In all seriousness, (EL GT) the same output as the EB GT with 5 years more development? The looks of that car are terrible, like someone had a giftcard at autobarn and bought all the rice things they could stick on. |

the only difference is that Tickford put a effort into making there limited release cars different to the everyday Tickford cars. FPV can only manage to design different badges and colours for the limited released cars sure the BF cobra got the 302kw motor but then they released that motor in the normal GT anyway.
How many years the FPV run the 290km boss motor you would of thought that they would of made it quicker then the T3 TE50 correct me if im wrong but it took 6 yrs to get that same performance of there cars. |

there are people that are defending the high price? maybe they are friends of the seller and trying to manipulate the market, as happens in stockmarket forums.
If anyone pays this much for a car like this then they seriously are tapped, there is no other way of looking at it, even if you are a diehard Falcon GT collector, you must take a look at yourself in the mirror and think what the F is wrong with me if you would pay this much for it. even true collectors have at least some brains. If someone buys this for $100k, then they are as dumb as buying a mint condition Holden Epica for $100k |

It is very interesting to read these responses cutting this advert to pieces...
Firstly... $105,000 for an EL GT with 200km on it... Please find me another EL GT with less than 1000km on it to compare to... Because I'm pretty sure they don't come up for sale like this very often... Secondly... Lets consider what else you may be able to buy for $100k 1970 XY GT Falcon http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...s=21&silo=1011 2007 Shelby Mustang http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...d=12C98446A2D3 1986 De Tomaso Pantera http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...=890&silo=1011 2001 Chevrolet Corvette C5 http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...=162&silo=1011 1969 Mustang GT http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...s=42&silo=1011 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...s=42&silo=1011 Sure - you could buy plenty of other classic and collectable cars for $100k or thereabouts.... But you'd struggle to find a museum quality collectable aussie car at the same price... It depends on what a buyer is looking for.... Sure if you wanted to buy a car to drive on the weekends etc, then the other examples shown could be perfect... But they aren't 'brand new' like the OP example... The car is effectively a time capsule.... And whilst the EL GT is probably the most unloved of the GT range... because of its 'mother can only love' looks... it was and is still a significant part of the GT history.... If this was a XY GT Phase III, or any of the 60s/70s GT with 200km... i'd bet the responses on this thread would be very different... At the end of the day... someone may buy it, or someone may not... But with that sort of mileage - I'm tipping that this particular car will be a low-miler for its entire life... There's my 2 cents... ;)

It is the most controversial GT looks wise IMO.
(which may make it more collectible) Seems reasonable for what it is. Where else are going to buy one just like that ?!

Unfortunately I dont think the EL will go down in history as a favourable GT. Ford missed the mark badly with this one

Sorry folks but no EL is worth 100k , and never will be . I could put an asking price of 1 million on my car, but at the end of the day, what you ask and what you get is two different things. Yes the guy is a dreamer as we have just seen one with 2000 kms more on the clock for 50k less. But for the cost of an add he can dream about his sale price and it probably makes the bloke feel better about his car somehow. So I guess I have no problem with it really.

I wouldnt buy it.
Its ugly, under powered, over priced and has sat idle for too long which i dare say would mean all the seals, gaskets and bushes would need replacing. As for mechanically superior...to what, its a 5.0l pushrod actuated dinosaur running a live axle rear end. |
