0-100 kmph AU 6 & V8

Interesting... to the AU 6 does 0-100 in 9.7 seconds.

Mine is doing 7 to 7.5 at the moment....how about others?

Got a 7.6. But averged 7.7 - 7.8

Could have got better times if I messed around with it more trying different methods

Around 8.5 for mine. (AU2 wagon, Pod & 3" intake, pacemakers + HF cat, but limited by standard cats back, ATM)

They are referring to the Wagon, not a Sedan. Could this be the reason for the slower time?????

yep. Wagons are a lot heavier. And Cheamans VCT is 100% stock.

mine is a calculation based on the 1/8 ET and MPH. Its pretty accruate, certainly as accruate as a GTech.

I'll actually do a GTech test soon in full road trim to see what difference it makes.

Says 9.2 thats preety slow!!

Iv got a 2.5 inch exhaust and the tickford intake though I doubt this would brake the 9 barrier.

Before my AU2 Fairlane had the Unichip and shift kit, it did 8.1 seconds with just extractors and exhaust. Haven't had the chance to run it again. Anyone want to take a guess?

Hey the quarter mile in that article is 16.6 seconds.Assuming that I am geting a 0-100 in 7.6 seconds(1.6 seconds quicker than stock) would that mean I should be doing a flat 15 second 1/4 mile.? With the stock cam I was getting a flat 7 seconds so really I am .6 second slower with the cam...

who says your car did 9.2 when it WAS stock?
and did your car ever run a 16.6 when it was stock?

numbers on paper are different to numbers actually run by YOUR car.

or you could goto a real drag strip and do it properly.
Gtech numbers are an estimate

I have been assured that gtect times are an ants pube different from real track time.Very close actually.The power figures though are a bit out.

The other issue is that if there are Saturday or weekday morning meets at wsid I will give it a go.But they dont have any. Sunday at church and nights with the fam

I think the g-tech times are pretty accurate... 0-100 seems to be spot on when i hit 100 and yeah seems right to me. and fairly consistent times... even with a manual. but still i wouldn't take quarter mile times as an official time. more just to give you an idea.

No chance. Johnbays is a 15.6 second car and is not far off your power. 0-100 is one thing but 1/4 is a whole other kettle of fish Stav.

Dauphin - the shift kit will save you about 0.1 at most. The uni chip may save you another 0.1 or 0.2. The reason for not much difference is that the autos still take off like they have never been modified. It's only once you get moving that mods seem to make a difference (hence better 1/4 mile times, but usually a good increase inthe terminal speed).

Actually my power curves and JonBays curves are pretty identical.Give or take 1 or kw each way.So I would probably be closer to is times. Around 15.5 1/4 mile.

Good idea too lets start a list here of 0-100 and lets include the v8 powered cars too.

Terminal power is used by many people as an indicator for 1/4 mile but I beg to differ!!! Loxxr6 has a power curve which has been maximisedto give good power figures throughout the rev range/speed range and power curve.His terminal power is around 146 rwkws but still managed a 14.6 quarter mile. Why??? Because he has bigger power on tap all the way from 60 to 160 kmph.The unichip has given the car a better state of tune. Not saying that termina speed is bad but maximising power below this is what has a big impact as well.

His is also a manual Stav which means his ratios are closer and he sits in the powerband better. He's be grabbing 3rd gear near 100kph while the auto only grabs 3rd at about 130kph. Therefor he is making better use of the cars power curve itself.

I think he was saying the launch with the autos kills us. I know it strangle my performance to the point where a stock manual falcon will get a car length or two on me in the first 2 seconds. The gap closes quickly.
