Default Repairing/repainting AU2 XR6/8 Tickford Wheels

Hi guys,

Going off the reccomendations in this thread:

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=42249

I am going to get my wheels repaired by Depulu Wheels in SEQ:

http://www.depuluwheels.com/index.html

I am tyring to upload some photos of the damage to my rims but im having dramas, will upload later at home.

I have sent Dupulu the pics and they have quoted me $940 for the following:

Return freight from Townsville to them and back.
Repair gouges and repaint all 4 wheels.
Refurbish Tickford centre caps

I think this is a bloody good price, yeah?

Has anyone used these guys or even just had their AU2 Tickford rims repainted?

I really hope they get the paint colour right, as the bright silver is the best thing about these rims (IMO).

Does anyone know the paint code for these rims?

Thanks, Mark

Near on a grand is a lot of money IMO to get wheels repaired - what do decent sets go for on ebay/secondhand/wreckers etc?

If I am going to spend any money on the rims, I want them to be immaculate, so that only leaves 3 options:

1. Brand new

$675 each from Wheelking

http://www.wheelking.com.au/Wheels/t...0/Default.aspx

Anyone know where to get cheaper?

2. Repair and repaint. have heard good things about Dupulu so Im trusting that they can get them looking immaculate/as good as new

3. Wait for an immaculate second hand set to come up for sale. Unlikely, but if some did come up, I would snap them up, because then I could use these rashed ones on my motorbike trailer etc.

Wheel Kings pricing is just absurd on some things.

I am in shock.

A 19" G6ET 10 spoke option wheel is $425 yet a 17 AU Series 2 wheel is $675!!

Look slike getting them repaired is the best option. As I doubt you will find a perfect set for that price

The G6ET wheels are cheaper than that from Ford. Around the $300 mark from memory.

Yeah, when you consider that roughly $250 of that quote they gave me is freight, and the fact that they are refurbing the centre caps too (the clear is coming off them) I think its a bloody good price...

Just hope they come back as bright and shiny as brand new stockers
