Default Thinking of trading wheels back to standard

I'm considering reverting both my AU's back to standard rims.

I currently have black Speedy Infernos on both cars.

I'd like to have the standard 17" 5 spokes on the sedan and the 18" T3 on the ute.

The only way I'd consider this though, is if someone was willing to trade. No cash adjustments either way, as I'd want fairly equivalent tyres to mine, which are all above 60%.

I have the following -
2 x 19 x 9.5 rims with 275/30/19 Kumho KU31
2 x 19 x 8.5 rims with 245/35/19 Kumho KU31
These will fit over Brembos

2 x 18 x 8 rims with 245/40/18 Maxxis MAZ1
2 x 18 x 8 rims with 245/40/18 Maxxis MAZ1 OR
2 x 18 x 9 rims with 245/40/18 Maxxis MAZ1 - These 2 were silver, but have been sprayed black
These will NOT fit over Brembos

What I want -
4 x 18 x 8 T3 5 spokes with good tyres

4 x 17 x 8 XR8 5 spokes with good tyres

Who has what?

These are my wheels -

Going back to stock wheels is an excellent idea and i thoroughly recommend people doing so
The problem with aftermarket wheels is they are so fashion-bound. What is super cool this year will be old hat in a few years, and Sox's wheels are an example of that. They would have been the coolest in 2006, but nowadays black five-spokes with wheel screws are just plain old hat. Where as stock wheels generally don't date, because you 'expect' to see them on that kind of vehicle.

So there's no one interested in having some fancy shmancy Speedys?

Come on, I might even consider parting with some money if needed.

I wen't back to a standard Ford rim...
After 20's and 19's the Ticky 18's just suited better..
Also, I've found that 18's are quite comfy too..

I have a full spare set of 17s, but they are lacking tread and need a cleanup.. not really interested in a swap, as I'd only go a concave rim, but if you have trouble sourcing them (haven't looked on eBay). let me know.

Perhaps something can be worked out anyway, freight isn't too bad for wheels.

I have a set of Azzuros, and I absolutely loathe them. Perhaps the worst looking wheel ever made IMO.

Thanks anyway though.

i currently have standard xr6 wheels back on, my young brother bought me a set of flash wheels on my 50 th without telling me, and while they look super grouse and are very good on the limits, but........Aaaahhhh factory wheels are so much less worry with potholes and ride over them so much better on melbournes crappy roads,
i suppose down the track i`ll have to put new treads on the flash ones and refit them to avoid hurting the brothers feelings, the things we do for relo`s .
+ so how did you go Sox? did you swap the wheels?

Those Infernos look fantastic on the ute IMO, but the 5 spoke T3's will look better.

I like the Infernos, I just want a change and wouldn't mind going back to the original type for each car.

The KU31's are good, nice feel, good feedback, ok in the wet when new.
As they age, they get harsher than normal and the wet weather grip goes off quicker than normal.

I'd like the 18" 5 spoke TS50 wheels for the ute, and the 17" 5 spokes for the sedan.

I might revive this......

I'd still like to swap any combination of my wheels for some T3 TS50 wheels.
I have some others which could also be used as a trade if needed, I have 6 Speedy Envys, will throw up a pic in the morning.

I have 4 Tickford 5 spoke 17s on my car at the moment. Not bad cond. All tickford badges still. Low tread remaining on tyres though. Sadly I'm in Tassie and I think cartage would be more than they're worth :P

Hmm, I might revive this thread.

I have actually moved the 18" Infernos, but still have the 19" on the ute and the 18" Envys.

I'd also still like the 5 spoke T3 wheels.

I don't need any 17" Tickford wheels anymore.
